Google’s Nexus One has just had a price drop but it looks like it’ll also have some accessories to sweeten the deal soon. A Google member of staff seems to have confirmed something hinted at by Google’s own support documents – a desktop docking station and a car dock are on the way.
The support document suggests that the Google Nexus One car dock will allow you to pop your phone into it to use it as a speakerphone and play music and other audio from its built-in speaker.
Meanwhile a Google Nexus One user on the Google Nexus One forum asked about the availability of a “docking station, car dock or other accessories”. They received a response from a Google staff member which confirmed that the accessories are coming: “The docking station for Nexus One are not available at this time. Stay tuned though, they should be available soon.”
The car dock and docking station were first mentioned in the product page leaks that came before the Google Nexus One’s launch. They priced them at $39.99 for the docking station and $49.99 for the car docking station. However those prices have not be confirmed by Google. Neither has a date other than that they’re “coming soon”.
