Splinter Cell: Conviction has been in the pipeline for years now, but it’s about to get a release at long last. Ubisoft has announced an expected release date for Tom Clancy’s stealth’em up.
Splinter Cell: Conviction, which was originally planned for a release back in 2007, has hit more than a few delays along the way, including one hopefully final one that pushes it out of Q1 this year. Ubisoft now says Splinter Cell: Conviction will hit stores in April.

In a statement to the press, Ubisoft didn’t rule out further delays by also declaring a wide target window of 2010-11, but from our hands-on last year, the game already feels polished and close to completion so we’re optimistic of it meeting this self-imposed deadline.
Of course, April will be a tough time for Splinter Cell: Conviction to make a splash, with Final Fantasy 13 and Red Dead Redemption both penciled in for Easter, but we’ll let you know if Ubisoft pulls out any more delays.
