The Apple tablet may be myth right now, but a lot of Jobs-watchers are pretty confident it won’t be by the end of the month. And according to TG Daily, a shortage of 10.1 inch LCD and OLED panels in the Far East right now points to a massive buy-up of components, and a possible OLED Apple tablet.
“We were told that Apple pre-ordered them all. All 10 inch LCDs, and all 10 inch OLEDs too,” a source told the publication.
iPhone OS update delay heralds Apple tablet?
Could an Apple tablet with a beautiful OLED display really be on the cards? We wouldn’t rule it out. LG, reported to be the supplier for Apple’s LCD displays, has upped its investment in OLED lately, buying up Kodak’s OLED arm in December. Nothing is official yet of course, but should Apple schedule an event for later this month, we’ll let you know.
