Sony Ericsson Xperia X10The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 has all our hopes for Sony Ericsson riding on it after Vodafone ditched the Xperia X2 earlier today. And its chance to redeem the Swedish-Japanese outfit may not be far off: a UK shopping site has leaked the exact release date for it, and it’s soon.

Head on over to Play.com, and you’ll see that the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Android smartphone is up for pre-order, SIM-free and unlocked, for £499.99, with a due date of 19 February. A Sony Ericsson spokesperson declined to comment on the launch date, but company execs told us at the first unveiling that it was aiming for a Q1 2010 release, so that sounds well within reason.

It’s also worth noting that 19 February is the day after Mobile World Congress, the world’s biggest phone tradeshow, ends, so you can bet we’ll be hearing much more about the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 there.
