FacebookFacebook has added a feature which will please office workers no end – you can now reply to wall posts, status updates and photo comments via email.

Up until now, Facebook required you to log-in to the site first which didn’t work out well for people whose bosses have banned the social network.

The feature is not yet available for all users but Facebook seems to be rolling it out at the moment. With 350m users, it’s understandable that it might take a while.

Once the feature is active, you’ll be able to respond to a comment by simply hitting reply to the Facebook alert email. The body text of your email will pop up on Facebook below the original comment.

To get the email reply feature, you’ll need to make sure you have Facebook notifications turned on. You can do that by hopping into Account Settings then going to Notifications.

Currently the Facebook email comment reply function works with alerts about status updates and comments on photos, videos and wall posts. However, it currently doesn’t cover private messages. Facebook clearly wants there to still be one reason for you to log in.
