The HTC HD2 didn't inspire oodles of excitement, because it had quite a lot of annoying bugs (you can search the web to find details), and its Windows Mobile operating system is not very popular.

The latest Windows Mobile 6.5.3 does not help much, and is mere window dressing. It still uses the same kernel as WinMo 5 did. So it is not optimized for the newer ARM processors, like the Tegra, or the Snapdragon that is inside the HTC HD2. That's why Windows Mobile disables the Snapdragon's 720p video hardware, because WinMo's kernel can't recognize it.

You'll notice that on all the Snapdragon phones that run the Android operating system, the 720p processor comes alive.

Microsoft seems unable to make substantial updates for Windows Mobile. Who knows what kind of calamities are going on over there at Redmond.
