Apple’s patents have been rooted through a lot recently and another one has been uncovered – it’s another touchscreen display patent. But although one diagram is marked “Macbook-Tablet”, it’s likely to be used for future version of the iPod Touch, iPhone and Apple Macbook. Could we get a touchscreen Macbook?
Patently Apple, a blog dedicated to scouring through Apple patents has found a new touchscreen display patent from Apple. It covers the creation of a thinner and brighter touchscreen display combining touch and pixel display elements.
Though the patent could potentially be used in a forthcoming Apple Tablet, it looks more likely to be used for future version of the iPhone, the iPod Touch and future versions of the Apple Macbook.
Yesterday we looked at Apple’s patent for a 3D multitouch tablet but we’ve previously seen patents to put haptic feedback into the iPhone, new location-sharing features and an auto-adjusting 3D display.
Whether or not Apple does make use of this new patent in the Apple Tablet, its fistful of new ideas means we’re likely to at least get something exciting.
