Sanyo Dual Camera Xacti VPC-CS1 super slim shooter unveiledThe Sanyo Dual Camera Xacti VPC-CS1 is a new, super slim camcorder from the Japanese company that scoops up full HD video, and is just 1 inch wide at its thickest point.

This year’s CES tradeshow may be all about 3D, but the Sanyo Dual Camera Xacti VPC-CS1 camcorder is so skinny, it’s positively 2D. Although the lens element itself is fairly normal sized for a pocket camcorder, it tapers down to an ultra skinny grip which will slide in to any pocket.

It’s designed to take 8 megapixel stills too, but the Sanyo Dual Camera Xacti VPC-CS1′s video recording is the big selling point here. It shoots in H.264, and has several different sound recording options depending on context to capture the best audio. It’s very much a camcorder that you’ll cart around with you all of the time for spontaneous clips, but much more comfortable than a fat Flip.

Also unveiled alongside it was the Sanyo Dual Camera Xacti VPC-SH1, with a 35mm wide angle lens, 30x zoom and 10MP still shooting. It also shoots 1080p H.264 and packs the same sound recording skills in a slightly thicker 1.69-inch shell.

The Sanyo Dual Camera Xacti VPC-CS1 and VPC-SH1 both ship from February in the US, and we’re just chasing European plans now.

Out February | $299 (CS1) and $399 (SH1) | Sanyo
