Palm Pre Plus: spruced up webOS for 2010The Palm Pre Plus and Palm Pixi Plus have just been unveiled here at CES in Las Vegas, featuring extra goodies including more boot space for your media, 3D graphics for gaming, and tweaked design to stop those pesky sliding woes once and for all. But will we see them in the UK?

From 25 January, lucky Americans will be able to pick up the Palm Pre Plus on Verizon, featuring a tweaked keyboard and sliding mechanism, 16GB of storage instead of 8GB, and 3D games.

Palm will be opening up the new developer kit which lets coders take advantage of the Palm Pre Plus’ graphical horsepower, but in the meantime seven games taking advantage of it have just hit the App Catalog, including Need For Speed Undercover and The Sims 3. The kit will be made more widely available in March.

Alongside the Palm Pre Plus, the Palm Pixi Plus will also debut on Verizon, but the only major change here is the addition of Wi-Fi.

So, no real new killer webOS phone this CES, but enough to keep fans sated for a little while longer. There’s no confirmation of when we’d see the Palm Pre Plus or Pixi Plus in the UK (The original Pixi isn’t even out here still), but we remain hopeful, ever since we spied the GSM Palm Pixi late last year.
