Facebook for iPhone version 3.1 adds push notifications to keep you constantly update on the news feed’s fluctuations but more interesting adds the ability to synch your Facebook friends with your address book – including photos.
When you first start Facebook for iPhone 3.1, you’ll be asked to allow notifications. Say ‘yes’ and it’ll activate them. We’d recommend hopping into settings and adjusting what the Facebook app notifies you about though, it’ll give you everything as a default and that might become a little oppressive if you’ve got a lot of friends.
Next you’re asked if you want to sync your address books. It syncs the data and adds your friends Facebook profile URLs if you don’t have a homepage listed for them in your iPhone contacts. It also gives you the option of synching their profile pictures.
It’s a nice update to an already excellent iPhone app and it seems the app hasn’t suffered since its last head developer ditched the iPhone for good. Hpefully Android-toting folks will get similar features soon.

it doesn’t seem to be doing the website syncing with contacts!

I think it only does it if you have no other website in there. I’ll take a look again. It certainly worked for me so far!
