While Britain was getting chilly in the snow, CES 2010 day 2 was hotting up in Las Vegas. Read on for all the news from Microsoft’s keynote, Sony’s press conference and the show floor in today’s CES Catch-up…
Sadly, the Microsoft keynote didn’t throw in the Microsoft Courier with Steve Ballmer’s traditional comedy act. However, we did get a look at the Apple-fighting HP Slate, discover that Project Natal will be here by Christmas and get a peek at Xbox Live’s new casual gaming service, Game Room.
We also discovered a HP Mini Android Netbook and while we were hunting down tasty Android tech, got hands-on with the Google Nexus One.
We also got our paws on Sony’s Dash personal internet viewer, a kind of sophisticated cousin of the Chumby, and eyeballed Toshiba’s futuristic Cell TV.
Sticking with the TVs, we hunted down LG’s Skype TV and discovered its plans for a stack of Freeview HD sets and to bung broadband in tellies as standard.
Then we put pen to screen with Samsung’s E6 and E101 ebook readers which allow you to scribble all over them and got a gorgeous gallery full of images.
Finally, we rushed around the show to bring you live coverage of press conferences from LG, Toshiba, Sharp, Cisco (home of The Flip), Samsung, Panasonic, Sony and Sanyo.
