Sling Touch Control 100The Sling Touch Control 100 is a brand new touchscreen remote from the fellas who brought you the Slingbox for anywhere TV streaming. Say goodbye to bobbly buttons and lint, and welcome in the intelligent telly remote which tells you what’s on too.

We were all over the Boxee Box remote’s QWERTY keyboard yesterday here at CES 2010, but Sling Media, which has been lying low for most of 2009, may have just topped it with the Sling Touch Control 100. Looking like a Sony X Series Walkman, it packs a big 4.3-inch capacitive screen and will chat with SlingGuide enabled devices and DVRs over Wi-Fi, as well as older set top boxes through infra red. The Sling Touch Control 100′s UI looks absolutely stunning, with big clear pictures and descriptions of what’s coming up and what you’ve got stored.

Now for the bad news. The Sling Touch Control 100 isn’t going on sale directly to the public: it’s being offered up to set top box makers and cable and satellite TV corporations for them to rebadge and use as they see fit, so whether this will make it to the UK ever still remains to be seen. But we can always fondle our Sky remote and dream, right?
