Not content with all the new stash unveiled at the Asus CES press conference yesterday, the company has quietly slipped out a refresh to the Asus N series of workhorse multimedia laptops, and along with new Intel processors, there’s one other big addition: USB 3.0 for superfast drag and drop.
Alongside the astonishing NX90 super speaker laptop, Asus has released an upgraded Asus N Series line, the N61Ja, N61Jq and N61Jv. They’re impressive 16-inch desktop replacements with the new Core i5 and Core i7 processors keeping things humming along, but some other great additions include Blu-ray, 1080p DVD upscaling and USB 3.0, for transferring files 10 times faster. Soon, stuffing whole movies onto your media player won’t take anytime at all.
The new Asus N series line is customisable under the bonnet, so you can get a hard drive of up to 500GB in there, 8GB of RAM and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730 or NVIDIA GeForce GT 325M graphics inside.
Price and shipping are still TBC for the new Asus N series line, but we’ll let you know when the lappies make it through customs.
