Spotify has yet to launch in the US and Techcrunch is claiming its been talking to Google about offering the streaming music service on the Nexus One.
Spotify and Google have apparently discussed offering an updated version of the Spotify Android app to work with the Google Nexus One’s Android 2.1 OS.
Techcrunch claims that Google has even suggested that it’s willing to pay the licensing fees required by the record labels for Spotify. While the service is free with ads in Europe, the US is a far bigger market and Spotify may simply not be able to handle the sheer cost of licensing on its own.
The rumours suggest that while talks between Google and Spotify are on going, its unlikely that the deal will be done by tomorrow when the Google Nexus One is meant to launch officially.
