Firefox exec, Asa Dotzler, has taken to his personal blog to slam Google CEO Eric Schmidt and encourage users to switch to Microsoft’s search engine Bing.
Dotzler, Mozilla’s director of community development, was inspired to make the post after Schmidt made comment about privacy on ABC News.
Schmidt told ABC: “If you have something that you don’t want anyone to know, maybe yo shouldn’t be doing it in the first place. If you really need that kind of privacy, the reality is that search engines – including Google retain information…it is possible that all that information could be made available to the authorities.”
Dotzler urged Firefox users to switch their browser search from Google to Bing which he claims “has a petter privacy policy than Google”. He says: “Eric Schmidt, the CEO of Google, [has told you] exactly what he thinks about your privacy. There is no ambiguity, no ‘out of context’ here.”
