It’s definitely the time of year for party games rather than hours staring unhealthily at your favourite first person shooter. So how does the PS3′s question mad Buzz! Buzz! Quiz World comes replete with neat, gameshow esque controllers, which mean even your Nan can get involved in the action if you can pull her away from her DS for long enough. It reminds us of the days when Saturday night TV wasn’t about tawdry singing and dancing contests but glitzy gameshows.

The presentation is great although the presenter goes from amusing to infuriating in record time. Much like actual TV presenters then. The questions themselves are varied and, pleasingly, pretty tough at times. It all means that things can get a tad too competitive. Be prepared for strops and tantrums if the teenagers don’t come out on top.
There are excellent little touches too, such as the ticking time bomb passed between contestants when you get a question correct. It adds a neat random feel which means you can screw over your opponents on Buzz! Quiz World without knowing all the right answers all the time.
There’s no doubting that Buzz! Quiz World is the very best quiz game out there. If you have a PS3 and are in need of some post-Christmas Day cheer, it’s definitely wirth slapping down for.
