Metal Gear Solid: PeacewalkerMetal Gear Solid: Peace Walker might be a mere PSP handheld game, but it was a show stealer back at E3 in the Summer, thanks to some sensational graphics, and the opportunity to play as the original Snake once more. It’s not out until May, but Konami’s just slapped up a playable demo for the “true sequel” on the PlayStation Network for you to try now.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, a direct sequel to Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, goes on sale in the UK and Europe on 28 May next year, two months after the Japanese launch, but a demo is available for the PSP on the PSN now.

The Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker demo gives you a sneak peek at four different mission types, as well as content first demoed at the Tokyo Game Show in the Autumn.

The game sees you take control of Snake (or Big Boss) in 1974, in a story that promises to be as every bit as gripping as Metal Gear Solid 4 thanks to a narrative penned by Hideo Kojima himself.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker also sees the introduction of a new multiplayer co-op game, which sees you stealthing it up through levels and working in coordination to cover each other’s blind spots. We’ll be sure to bring you more coverage in the run up to launch, but in the meantime, download the demo and mark this weekend off in the diary for some alone time.

Out 28 May 2010 | £TBC | Konami (Via Digital Spy)
