Google Chrome OS could be coming to a Google branded Chrome OS netbook. Following the Google Nexus One, it now seems Google may also be working on its own netbook to showcase the net focused OS.
Google has made it clear that it would work with range of manufacturers including Asus, Acer and Lenovo. But it seems it might want to take a little bit more control over the hardware for the Chrome OS netbook.
According to Techcrunch, multiple sources are claiming that Google has been talks at least one hardware manufacturer about building a Google-branded netbook. Google has apparently submitted a request for proposal document, seeking pitches from the netbook makers to fit their specification.
Google doesn’t seem to be in a hurry with the suggestion being that its netbook is on course for Christmas 2010. Google apparently intends to sell the devices directly to consumers. The device will be 3G enabled and be available with various carrier plans making it a potential competitor for the Nokia Booklet.
