Panasonic has only recently released its third Micro Four Thirds camera, but a newly discovered patent application reveals a bigger, Four Thirds friendly DSLR is on the way too. Could we be seeing it at CES next month?
43rumors has dug up a document dated 10 December, showing a new Four Thirds Panasonic camera. Four Thirds is a different standard to Micro Four Thirds, which allows for interchangeable lenses between brands, as well as a mirror inside the DSLR body, so you can use an optical viewfinder too.

The document details a new Panasonic Four Thirds camera with CMOS sensor, but with no sign of video recording like the impressive Micro Four Thirds Panasonic Lumix GH1.
Although nothing is concrete, another in the know photo blog is predicting that a Panasonic Four Thirds camera will be revealed at CES, taking place in Las Vegas next month. We’re hoping it’s on the money, but either way, we’ll be on the ground liveblogging from Panasonic’s press conference, so you’ll be the first to know if one breaks cover.
