Motorola Milestone: hands-on photos!

The Motorola Milestone has landed, people. We’ve nabbed one of our very own, right here in the US of K, but before we give it the full review, feast your eyes on our close up photos, right here!

The Motorola Milestone has had an underwhelming launch in the UK compared to its stonking crash landing as the Droid in the US. It dribbled out onto Expansys at the start of the month, only available SIM-free for a wallet wilting £449.99. But now we’ve got one, we can see why you’d pay this way still.

Motorola Milestone: first UK contract spotted

The Motorola Milestone’s keyboard is a disappointment, it’s true. It’s at an angle that’s not remotely comfortable with the screen slid out, and you won’t get near the word per minute speeds of a BlackBerry or Nokia E series.

But that 3.7-inch screen is beyond gorgeous. It’s the most ravishing display we’ve ever seen on an Android blower, and makes the iPhone’s panel look positively low-res. Android 2.0 is shaping up nicely too, with multitouch making browsing as pleasant as it is on the HTC Hero or HTC HD2.

We’ll be back with a full Motorola Milestone review before you know it, but in the meantime, peep the pics in our gallery right here!

Even at £449 I’m tempted, but apparently the unlocked phone can’t access copy-protected apps on the market. If true, that’s enough to put me off till they get it sorted.
