The BMW Concept ActiveE is the car for you if you want to go green, but still want a little bit of leg space to go with your conscience, and it even has its own iPhone app! Beemer’s just unveiled this lovely leccy vehicle, so read on for all the pics in our gallery right here.
The BMW Concept ActiveE is the second electric car from the auto titan after the Mini E, and while it’s kind on Mother Earth, this time round it is on you too, thanks to a spacious saloon size and large 200 litre boot.
New Jaguar XJ: inside a gadget super car!
Despite its large size, the battery still charges up in just 3 hours from a 240V mains socket, so plug it in at night and it’ll be brimming with juice whenever you get up in the morning. It’s good for a range of 100 miles, and and can manage 0 to 60mph in 8.5 seconds.
Best of all though, there’s an iPhone app to go with it. Although BMW hasn’t announced anything, official photos of the BMW Concept ActiveE show an app with status information, mileage, and charging station information. It doesn’t appear to be anything like any BMW apps on the iPhone App Store right now, so it looks as though it’s been specially coded for the BMW Concept ActiveE.
The BMW Concept ActiveE is based on the BMW 1 Series Coupe and is expected to be unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit next year. It’s being tested now, with the aim to begin mass production of something similar before 2015.
