mflow, a new British MP3 download store, doesn’t launch publicly until early next year, but the iTunes rival slash social network has confirmed to us that plans are already afoot for a mobile version. Read on for the details.
We spoke to Don Jenkins, mflow’s director of music, about the future of the service, which lets you earn money by recommending songs to others, and he told us that a “a mobile app” was coming “further on in the year [2010]“.
mflow: make money recommending MP3s
Jenkins wouldn’t confirm what platform would take priority, but he said to look for the mflow mobile offering “within six to nine months”.
When we were shown mflow’s desktop app this morning (it’s currently in private beta), we were impressed by the sharing ability, with Twitter style following. Although an mflow mobile app wouldn’t let you stream whole playlists on demand like Spotify, it definitely offers a great service for music fans who love to share and show off the music they’ve discovered.
Expect the first mflow mobile app sometime next year, and in the meantime, you can sign up to get into the private beta for PC and Mac here.
