Windows Mobile Windows Mobile 7 won’t arrive until late 2010, according to a Microsoft UK executive. The suped up mobile OS should bring better touch sensitive smarts but will it be worth the wait?

Speaking at the Connect! technology summit in London, Microsoft’s UK head of mobility, Phil Moore, said Windows Mobile 7 has been delayed. He admitted: “It has been put back until late next year but it is definitely coming.”

Moore promised that Windows Mobile 7 will be worth the wait: “You’re going to see a lot more on Windows Mobile 7. You’ll get flexibility on a much easier touch UI.”

With Android hotting up thanks to the Motorola Milestone and the Google Nexus One and a new iPhone due in June, will Windows Mobile 7 be able to catch up?

Still, while we may have to wait a little longer for Windows Mobile 7 but an upgrade version of Windows Mobile 6.5 could still be on its way soon.

More promises and no action from Microsoft on its hopeless Windows Mobile phone platform. It gets very boring that Microsoft is unable to bring its old-fashioned Windows Phones out of the last century, and the era of the stylus pen.

Most people will opt for iPhone, or one of the new Android phones mentioned above. The only people who buy a Windows Phone are those who have not heard of it, and don’t know what it is, who are easily persuaded by the sales person or the discount price.

Couldn’t agree more. It’s amazing how slow to react Microsoft have been. They wised up and learned a lot from Vista and its scars, why can’t they do the same on mobile? They’ve had two and a half years to come up with something as intuitive as iPhone OS.
