Medal Of Honor is set to return in 2010 and it’s ditched the Nazis and historical settings for a far more modern setting. In fact, if the first Medal Of Honor 2010 trailer is anything to go by, it’s taken a little inspiration from Modern Warfare 2.

Medal Of Honor is due to return to active duty next year, trailed by EA Games boss Frank Gibeau last month. Now we’ve seen the first gameplay trailer from the new Medal Of Honor game which is due in Autumn 2010.

While the bearded soldier, who is rumoured to be the new Medal Of Honor game’s hero, makes an appearance in a still image at the end of the trailer, the most interesting elements are the glimpses of modern combat. Yes, just like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

During the short clip we spotted moments of night vision, a kidnapping, helicopter and other airborne combat, chain guns and all-terrain vehicles complete with GPS units. It certainly looks like Medal Of Honor has been studying the Call Of Duty playbook.

You can also follow the Medal Of Honor team on Twitter, where the bearded soldier is the profile picture, and you’ll find the intriguing quote: “There is a new enemy. There is a new war. There is a new warrior. He is Tier 1.” The tweets also point to a homage to the original Medal Of Honor trailer. Can you spot it?

Lmao dude you are such a fuckin tit, don’t make me list all the games that were made before MW 2 and even COD…
So you better think before you post shit

      • Lil Dew

oh and BFBC 2 is gonna support DirectX 11 and MoH 2010 might support DirectX 11 as well so you just got stuffed COD fanboy…

  • darenm

how does the modern setting make it a copy of MW2? there wer eplenty of games BEFORE mw2 that were modern

    • http://www.electricpig.co.uk Ben Sillis

The original Modern Warfare for one! I’m sure Infinity Ward’s success with the genre has had some influence though.

  • chris

call of duty is kicking more ass then ever before, medal of honor is sucking more ass then ever before, so in order to keep up with call of duty, they copy their ideas. its not that hard to thing about, put yourself in their shoes, call of duty, medal of honor and battlefield are all against each other, because 1 of them are going to sneek a REALLY good game out and take everyones eyes off of the other companys games

The graphics actually seem better and the gameplay seems more realistic. Read about the game and you will find that it WILL be more realistic than COD. That means no silenced shottys, LMGs, .50 cals, and whatnot. Don’t be mad that Medal of Honor might be better.

  • n1xon

Reply to chris: Infinity Ward would not exist if it wasnt for medal of honor, as they made Medal of Honor Allied Assault. And your saying call of duty, medal of honor and battlefield are all against each other, if i was you i would do some research, as the team who are making this new medal of honor are the same team who make the battlefield series (EA DICE).

  • FROGMAN

I HEARD THAT THIS GAME WILL HAVE ALOT OF EVENTS THE CLOSELY RESEMBLE ACTUALL BATTLES THAT HAVE TAKEN PLACE IN AFGHANISTAN. THAT SOUND INTREASTING, HOPEFULLY THE CAMPAIGN STORY IS MORE REALISTIC THATN MW2

    • http://www.gravatar.com James Holland

I HOPE SO TOO FROGMAN. Now, please stop shouting. :D

  • Big EF

Mmmmm….as I remember. There were a lot of modern era combat games before CoD:MW….so if we are going to accuse someone of ripping of ideas….I would say that it was Infinty Ward. Besides….Medal of Honor was first with their World war 2 theme. Infinity Ward followed short after. Feel free to check that….It’s true….

with medal of honor u get a real sense of history and authenticity, they research everything.wot the hell is mw2 on about with the russians invading america, rubbish!!!

    • ceap123

no cod 2 was way too better in history… just that cod series always hangs up somewhere… like in moh there never existed a king tiger tank… generals were not emphasized! saving pvt. ryan was a big no no! In MOH they did not have pointe du hoc which is one of the most important events in the war since that was the beginning of the end of war. you also don’t get to play in Erwin Rommel’s battlefield in moh… note that Rommel was a Significant figure in the warfare in egypt… MOH is also easier than cod…

      • http://electricpig smiler

ha! I’ve read some crap in my time but your reply is top of the league.
you state rather ridiculously that the pointe du hoc was one of the most important events of the war.
The pointe du hoc was a Normandy cliff top gun emplacement which when stormed by yank rangers was found to be empty and of no threat to the liberating allied forces landing on the beaches and out at sea.
This was an objective that was necessary to aid the landing forces but pales into insignificance when compared to the real important events of the second world war for example:
        The battle of Brittan.
The loss of 6Th army at the battle of Stalingrad.
The siege and liberation of Leningrad.
        The Warsaw uprising.
        Pearl Harbour.
        The holocaust.
        The battle of midway.
        The battle of kursk.
The Italian surrender and subsequent changing of sides.
        The battle of Monte Casino
The atomic and hydrogen bombs being dropped on Japan.
The actual beginning of the end is credited by most historians to the loss of sixth army at Stalingrad and seen as the turning point in the war, this was in early 1943 nearly a year and a half before the Normandy landings and the pointe du hoc operation.
As for MOH not giving you the opportunity to fight Rommel in north Africa, if you look how the game is laid out it is in a linear style taking you through each battle on the road to Berlin or Iwo Jima depending on whether you are fighting in the east or west.
Since the battle with Rommel for North Africa was won in 1943 MOH are hardly going to shoehorn it into a game for the 1944-45 liberation of Europe.

in the russian blitzkrieg in mw2 if you are really gonna think of it… war is possible through masacre then frame them up… if you understood zachaev in cod 4 you would’ve got a grasp too on makarov’s….

  • KillAWatt1705

Don’t make me list the HUNDREDS of games that came out BEFORE Modern Warfare 2 that were based on, yes, believe it or not, ACTUAL MODERN WARFARE. Wtf is up with people these days? Medal of Honor is basing a war game set in the somewhat near future, it doesn’t mean it’s “copying” anything.

People need to grow up and stop thinking that Modern Warfare 2 is the only war game out there. Or worse, think that Modern Warfare 2 is the only “good” war game released.

  • madbazx

MW2 SUCKS CAMPING IDIOTS AND YOUNG KIDS PLAYING HAVE FXXkED IT UP,BAD COMPANY2 MILES BETTER ON LINE,BET YOU ALL BUY MEDAL OF HONOR LOL>

  • Brian

Yeah, this game is probably gona get slammed because of all the ignorant/arrogant MW2 fanboys who’re gona say that it’s a rip off of MW. BTW Bad Company 2 is WAAAYY better than MW2, seeing as the sound is better, and stuff actually degrades when shot at, you know, like in real life. Hope they put stuff like that in MoH.
