Green Day will be the next band to get their own dedicated Rock Band game with the launch of Green Day: Rock Band sometime in 2010. But hang on, you say, aren’t they already in Rock Band 2′s downloadable content?
The shots from Green Day: Rock Band in the trailer above do look awfully like what you’d see playing Green Day’s DLC songs in Rock Band 2 but the new game will feature some of the band’s favourite songs as well as a long more tracks from their career.
Unlike The Beatles: Rock Band, Green Day: Rock Band will allow you to export its tracks to Rock Band and Rock Band 2. All the Green Day DLC and three tracks from its 21st Century Breakdown album (out on Tuesday) will be compatible too.
There’s no confirmed release date for Green Day: Rock Band but we do know that it’ll be hitting the Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360. With Queen: Rock Band on the way, the Rock Band Network opening early next year and The Who: Rock Band heavily rumoured, 2010 will be a big year for plastic instrument players.
