The Humax HD-FOX T2 is the first Freeview HD slab from the set top box peddler, and while it’s not out until early next year, we’ve just had a sneak peek at one in action today. Read on for the photos!
The Humax HD-FOX T2 will pump Freeview HD channels straight into your living room if you’re in range of the new broadcast platform, but there’s a few extra bells and whistles thrown in. As well as USB media playback, it can act as a PVR if you plug an external hard drive in, and it can upscale images all the way to full HD.
Humax Freeview HD 2010 line unveiled!
As you can see from the shots, the Humax HD-FOX T2 is a slim little slate, and one we’d happily have resting under our HDTV. Unfortunately, we couldn’t’ see it running on an LCD TV, but as you can see from the demo via a large projector, you can see Humax has revamped its EPG and skin to look much nicer, cleaner, and more importantly faster. Skipping through hours on a channel no longer requires a pause very second – you can just whizz straight through with very smooth screen refreshes.
The Humax HD-FOX T2 should ship from sometime in the first quarter of next year for around £170.
