Nokia storeNokia is closing it’s flagship store on London’s Regent street after suffering slow sales and poor footfall. It’s a sad day for Nokia fans but the rest of the company’s UK stores will stay open.

While the fortunes of the Apple Store opposite are buoyant, with the Mac-maker frequently touting it as the most profitable store in its arsenal, Nokia’s Regent Street shop failed to generate enough interest despite large queues to for launches of devices like the Nokia 5800.

Nokia allegedly spent £4m creating the Regent Street flagship store. It will close in the first quarter of 2010, just over two years after it launched in February 2008. Seven other UK stores, including its Heathrow Terminal 5 outpost, are set to receive a revamp.

Nokia closed a previous retail outlet in Regent Street a few years back, and the loss of its latest store will come hot on the heels of the closure of Sony Ericsson’s flagship store on Kensington High Street. Looks like we’ll have to go elsewhere to ogle the Nokia N87.

Did you visit the Nokia store? Will you be sad to see it go? Let us know.
