nightvision-1

The word NightVision conjures up images of gentlemen with too much time on their hands, on gaming fanatics who’ve dropped a load of wedge on the Modern Warfare 2 special edition pack. But this NightVision Digital Video Camera is actually a rather nifty piece of kit. Read our NightVision Digital Video Camera review now and we’ll tell you why.

Pick up the NightVision Digital Video Camera and you’ll be pleasantly surprised at just how well it works. The quality is VGA, so there’s no HD here, but it has a great range and doesn’t just pick up green figures right in front of your nose. That makes it perfect for filming at festivals or parties where everything has a literal haze.

To get a decent amount of footage, you’ll need to invest in a 2GB SD card, which will bump the storage up to 75 minutes of night time clips. Sadly, the internal storage can only handle two minutes before it maxes out, but with SD cards so cheap these days, it’s difficult to complain.

Where the NightVision Digital Video Camera is somewhat hamstrung though is quality. VGA 640z480 isn’t great and trying to see just what you’re filming on the dinky 2-inch viewfinder is a pain. It certainly gave our childhood squint a tough time when we gave it a whirl. Also, you’ll find that because it runs on four AA batteries, you’ll be shopping for power during the day so you can make movies at night.

That aside, for just £70, it’s difficult to quibble with the NightVision Digital Video Camera. It’s not the cleverest gadget in the world, but its novelty factor means its great as a stocking filler this Christmas.
