Google Chrome for Mac has finally appeared, bearing Google’s beloved “beta” badge. As we told you previously, it doesn’t have Google Chrome Extensions yet but everything else seems present and correct.
Google Chrome’s developers focus on browser speed and there’s a neat feature (reminiscent of Safari and Opera) which shows your most visited sites when you open a new tab.
You can apply Google Chrome themes to tart up the browser’s basic look and as with the windows version there’s one box for both navigation and search.
Mike Pinkerton, the Google developer who led the team behind Chrome for Mac, says they “built and rebuilt” the whole browser rather than simply porting the Windows Version. It incorporates Keychain and Mac OS’s spell checking function.
Google also claims that making use of Mac OS X’s sandboxing support will make Google Chrome for Mac more secure.
