Apple Exec Phil Schiller has stepped up for keynote duty when Steve Jobs was absent, so we’re certainly interested to see what apps are must haves on his iPhone. The only slight problem: none of them are Apple’s.
Bar the standard Apple programs that come built onto the iPhone from day one, Shiller hasn’t mentioned whether he’s also installed Apple’s free MobileMe iDisk or Remote app or put down some cash on Keynote Remote or Texas Hold’em.
Instead, when Shiller revealed to the New York Times which iPhone apps he uses, he only went for third party plugins.
His first choice was song spotting app Shazam, followed by CNN’s news feeder and Facebook for keeping in touch. He takes three sports apps to track team progress, favouring the offerings of MLB, NBA and ESPN.
When relaxing, his favourite touch games are the Eliminate first person shooter and the geoDefense retro puzzler. Wrapping it all up, Shiller also likes the Best Camera app, which lets you go all artistic on your phone snaps.
We’re still waiting to see what Shiller thinks of the Electricpig iPhone app, but given Time Out’s glowing recommendation we reckon it’s only time.
