n96-mapsRemember the Ovi Prime Place trademark listing Nokia nabbed back in October? Well it’s now revealed what it will be attaching to that name: free business listings on Ovi Maps. It’s like Yellow Pages 2.0.

Nokia’s Ovi Prime Place service lets registered business owners stick a pin in Ovi Maps and then add all their details so customers can find out more.

Once a business is in, then it’ll be viewable by millions of Ovi Maps users. Shopkeepers can add details, like a description of what they sell and their opening hours, so customers know when to pop in.

As the Prime Place details are dragged down from the web each time, customers also know that they’re looking at the most up to date info. Providing the business has kept its records in check there’s no risk of looking at an out of date printed hard copy.

The best bit of all, for businesses, is that Ovi Prime Place is completely free to register for. Just sign up for an Ovi account if you haven’t already got one, then start tapping in your details. Ovi Prime Place will take care of the rest.
