Google ChromeGoogle Chrome Extensions could launch as soon as this week according to whispers apparently coming from within the project team. So what can we expect from Google Chrome’s Firefox fighting feature?

Google revealed its Chrome Extensions site for developers to upload their work a few weeks back. Now it seems Extensions could go live this week.

Add-on-Con 09, a conference dedicated to browser add-ons, is on next Friday and Google Chrome is one of the key sponsors. It’s likely that Google will want to have something to show off.

Google Chrome’s Extensions Gallery will probably be quite simple, listing the extensions that are available and giving you an option to download them with one click.

Google Chrome for Mac is just around the corner but it apparently will not launch with extensions support. The latest builds of open-source developer version Chromium do support them but only the Windows-based final version of Chrome will use extensions initially.
