O2 may not be the exclusive iPhone network any longer, but that doesn’t mean it’s not still being touted as such. This advert was spotted on the back of The Guardian this week, and flagged up by mobile trade website Mobile Industry Review. What happened to the iPhone on Orange? And Vodafone? And Tesco?
Spotted by a reader of Mobile Industry Review, this photo shows an iPhone “Only on O2″ advert on the back of Wednesday’s Guardian. It’s not accurate, as the iPhone has been available on Orange since last month. Slip up? Or something more sneaky?
Vodafone iPhone settings released: launch imminent?
O2 has responded on the original post to say that The Guardian had run an “old version” of the advert, produced by Apple. We took a look in our local O2 store in Ealing Broadway, West London, to see if there was any other promotional material on show touting the iPhone “only on O2″ but in that branch at least, all mention of O2 as the exclusive iPhone seller had been removed. It looks like an isolated incident, but only you can help us find out for sure.
