MySpace MusicMySpace Music, the ad-based, free tune chucking service from that “other” social networking giant, finally rolls out in the UK today. But with Spotify, We7 and even Sky already crowding the market, is it too little too late?

Now that MySpace Music has struck a deal with UK royalties organisation PRS for Music, the popular US service has launched in Britain, as of today. It offers unlimited song streaming, either on demand or via playlists, in your browser. The big MySpace Music selling point for artists and labels meanwhile is MySpace Artist Dashboard, which gives a detailed breakdown of who is listening to what music on the service.

Along with offerings from all the major record labels, MySpace Music also adds plenty of indie label catalogues, and those sick of Spotify sound ads will be pleased to hear that it’s only using display ads for now.

There’s no MySpace Music mobile app though, for any platform, so if you’re a Spotify Premium subscriber you’re unlikely to be switching allegiances. MySpace Music is live now to try out.
