Twitter 360Twitter 360, an augmented reality, geo-tagging app has hit the App Store. The app allows you to ‘see’ where your friends’ tweets are happening.

Twitter 360 uses the iPhone’s video camera and Twitter’s geo-tagging functionality to provide an augmented reality visualisation of what is being tweeted and where.

The ‘latest tweets’ option lets you see what’s going on in your vicinity, as well as directing you to the exact location a tweet took place. The ‘locate my friends’ mode uses Twitter’s location field data so you can stalk meet up with your friends. It evens provides a handy arrow and real-time distance calculator.

Twitter 360 can also integrate with your Google Maps to provide a handy overview of where all your buddies are and what they’re up to. Obviously, there is an option to go invisible if you don’t want to be found.

Sound complicated? It really isn’t – check out the video below:

You’ll need an iPhone 3GS to run Twitter 360 as it needs the compass to operate.
