Spotify, the online music streaming sensation, is in talks with several Korean TV manufacturers to add the on-demand music platform to their web-connected TVs, with console makers wanting in too.
Spotify on an LG LED TV, anyone? Spotify’s Shakil Khan has been speaking at the Noah conference in London today, where he confirmed that the Swedish start up is in talks with South Korean consumer tech companies to produce TVs with Spotify integration built right in. He didn’t name names, but two prominent ones that spring to mind are: LG and arch rival Samsung.

Khan went on to tease that he also receives “one call a week” from game console manufactures eager to add Spotify to their online content. Again, no names were mentioned but Spotify has indicated it wants to be on as many platforms as possible and Microsoft has just launched a Last.fm app for Xbox Live, so is clearly keen on opening up the Xbox to streaming music – so long as it can charge for the privilege.
We’ve got a call in with Spotify now, and we’ll be sure to update as and when we get more details.
