The Nokia X6, Espoo’s first bash at a touchscreen phone with a capacitive screen, is here in our hands at last. Want to know how it shapes up to the iPhones of the multimedia smartphone world? Read on for the pics.
If you read our Nokia N900 review, you’ll know where our allegiance lies in the resistive/capacitive touchscreen tech divide, and the Nokia X6’s bright display has brought us back round to its finger friendly phones in a big way.
The Nokia X6’s screen is incredibly responsive to regular jabs with your digits, and hasn’t missed a single beat so far. Switching the Nokia X6 into landscape mode is a little bit janky on Symbian, but once you’re there you’re away, blitzing out text faster than you ever could with a Nokia 5800 and a stylus.
Nokia X6: hands-on photo overload
From the front, the Nokia X6 is also a gorgeous looking slab, with a lovely bit of chunk to its feel, although we’ve already found it has the most stupidly placed SIM card slot we have ever seen, and it completely scars one side of the handset.
We’re off to put the Nokia X6 through its paces, load it up with Comes With Music, and bounce back with a full Nokia X6 review, but in the meantime, check it out up close in our unboxing pics.
