Nvidia’s 3D Vision system is about to get a lot more useful: the graphics giant just confirmed it’s adding support for Google Earth and in-browser 3D. Flickr in the third dimension, anyone?
That’s exactly what Nvidia 3D Vision promises, with support “coming soon” for Google Earth, Bing Maps and Cooliris, on top of plugins for Firefox, Internet Explorer and Chrome browsers.
3D support through Flickr was mentioned specifically, and while an exact launch date was a stretch too far for Nvidia’s reps, they would confirm it’s actively being worked on and will be released shortly.
Nvidia 3D Vision is, of course, already on sale giving gamers 3D graphics with the help of some geek-tastic goggles. Now though, it could leap into maps and picture viewing too. Any other uses you can think of? Give us a shout in the comments section below!
