Aardman Animations, creators of Wallace & Gromit and Chicken Run (among many others), has made a Nintendo DSi advert. And what’s more it’s used a free Nintendo DSi application to do it…

Aardman’s ad, which you can see above, shows a kid writing his Christmas list and imagining what he might want. The answer? A Nintendo DSi. How convenient!

Now we know that adverts are, you know, just adverts but what makes this one interesting is that Aardman created it using Flipnote Studio, a free animation programme for the Nintendo DSi.

It seems Aardman has been sharing creations made in Flipnote Studio for some time, but has just broken cover to reveal that Nintendo had asked it to with the Christmas ad.
