Freesat has pencilled in a date for the launch of BBC iPlayer on the subscription free service. It’s a few days later than the BBC promised, but you’ll be able to get the on-demand access before Christmas. Read on for the details.
Freesat has confirmed that BBC iPlayer will launch in beta from 7 December. All Freesat equipment will work with it, though you’ll need an ethernet connection near the set top box to pipe the shows through.
You’ll be able to watch it by pressing the red button on your remote – initially, you’ll need a code to get in on the Freesat BBC iPlayer beta, with invites going out to press and TV partners first, but it will be opened up to the Freesatting public at large before Christmas.
