The Camangi WebStation might not ring any bells just yet, but it could be the next Android tablet to start salivating over. The little-known manufacturer has just debuted the 7-inch Wi-Fi equipped tablet has just appeared on its own website, and it’s shaping up to be rather nifty. Read on for the lowdown.
The Camangi WebStation will sport a resistive touchscreen with an 800 x 480 native resolution, alongside 128MB of memory and 256MB of NAND storage. If you think this sounds a tad weedy, bear in mind that storage is expandable via a microSD slot, and that you’ll get an 8GB card in the box.
Connectivity comes via Wi-Fi, but you’ll also be able to hook up a 3G modem via the USB 2.0 port. Also on board is GPS and a mini-USB connector, plus a 3.5mm headphone socket. The Camangi WebStation’s battery life runs to up to four days on standby, or four to five hours of activity.
Sitting on top of this tech is Android 1.5 and all the usual apps for email, web browsing and media playback. And the Camangi WebStation is also getting its own app store (dubbed the Camangi Market) for software designed specifically to run on its hardware.
The Camangi WebStation will launch in the US in the middle of December, but the price is still yet to be determined. Other Android tablets on the way include the 15-inch Vega and 5-inch Dell Streak, and of course the Archos 5 is already on sale.
