Tony Hawk (he of the skateboards, rather than the dragging fridges round Ireland) has confirmed that Ride 2 is already in the works. And Ride’s skateboard peripheral is set to feature in surf and snowboard games.
Tony Hawk: Ride doesn’t arrive in the UK until December 5 but Tony Hawk has confirmed that Ride 2 is already planned: “We have already started the process. I feel like we’ve only just really tapped what’s possible with this technology”
Hawk also says Ride’s skateboard peripheral will used in snowboarding and surfing games. He says: “I think the first priority, beyond skateboarding, would be snowboarding and beyond that I’d love to do a surfing game.”
The surfing game may even be a revival of PS2 title Kelly Slater’s Pro Surfer. Hawk believes “people didn’t really give it the attention it deserved”.
But is Hawk getting ahead of himself? Tony Hawk: Ride isn’t out until December 5 and has a rather hefty £100 price tag. Will the promise of surf and snow adventures in the future encourage you to grab a copy?
