The Shazam RED special edition iPhone app is a mobile mashup that does just what it says on the tin: tune lookup while giving to the (Product) RED charity fund at the same time, and it’s just hit the App Store. Read on for the details.
Sure, there have been RED iPods before, but if you wanted to give rather than get with your iPhone, there hasn’t been an app for that until now. Shazam RED, which has just hit the iPhone App Store, does just that, by donating a slice of the price.
Shazam downgrade spells trouble for pub quiz cheats
The Shazam RED iPhone app works in exactly the same way as the recently released Shazam Encore iPhone app – the only difference is that it also provides regularly updated news about RED, and 20 percent of the £2.99 asking price goes to all that good work fighting AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. It’s not a huge amount, no, but if you were just about to prod the Shazam app for download, help someone else out and go for the Shazam RED version instead.
You can find Shazam RED on the iPhone App Store now.
