Creative’s third generation Vado HD has emerged with slightly upgraded specs and oddly, a drop in storage capacity…
The Creative Vado HD third generation ditches the protruding lens that made the previous Vado HD look like a grumpy cyclops. It also has manual exposure to better respond to low light or brightly lit conditions.
In a move to match the Kodak Zi8, the Vado HD now has a headphone output and the option to plug in an external microphone. There’s motion-detection to grab video when something dares to move and one-click uploading to Facebook, Youtube, Photobucket and Box.net.
Oddly the new Vado HD also brings a drop in storage capacity. The previous generation Vado HD went up to 8GB, this version will only come as a 4GB model.
Creative says the third-generation Vado HD will hit the US in mid-December for $299. But expect to see the Vado HD 3G in the UK soon. It will need to arrive pretty soon as both Flip and Kodak have new cameras on the way.
