Taptu, the mobile search engine designed for touchscreen phones, has just launches its own Android app to complement the native app on the iPhone and iPod touch. Want to know what it does and where to get it? Read on.
The Taptu Android app solves the problem of lag caused by loading desktop versions of web pages by letting you search through touch-friendly sites which load quicker and are easy to navigate around. It’s ideal if you’re in an area with poor 3G reception, or don’t have an Android phone with multitouch support. The Taptu Android app homepage also pulls up trending topics on social media right now, so you can quickly dive in to what everyone’s talking about.

The Taptu Android app is fairly bare bones at the moment, but we’re promised additional features including Facebook and Twitter sharing in the next version. The Taptu Android app is available on the Android Market now for Google blowers running version 1.5 and up, but unsurprisingly, its mobile web site works well on touchscreen phones if you’ve been left out of the love-in.
