Palm PreThe Palm Pre webOS 1.3.1 update has taken a full week to make it across the Atlantic, but now the latest version of the smartphone peddler’s OS is rolling out on UK handsets, bringing extra Synergy skills including Yahoo! jabbering over instant messaging.

Starting today, the Palm Pre webOS 1.3.1 update is now live for those in the UK and Europe. The big addition is business bod social network LinkedIn and Yahoo! support on Palm Synergy, meaning you can now ping people over Yahoo! chat as you can through Google Talk and AIM on the Palm Pre already.

The new Palm Pre webOS 1.3.1 update also brings support for Google apps and Yahoo! small business accounts, and the ability to forward messages directly from the Messaging app. The webOS Facebook app for your Palm Pre should also be ready to download.

To nab the Palm Pre webOS 1.3.1 update, you’ll need to flick your Wi-Fi on, but if you don’t over the next 48 hours, it’ll commence over 3G instead. Anyone with their lives stored on Yahoo!, go find a hotspot, stat.
