Foursquare hit London a while back but now the location-based game is open to people living in Birmingham, Bristol, Brighton and Edinburgh.

The expanded Foursquare rollout in the UK is part of a worldwide push for the game which has added 50 more cities. Besides the UK, the application has now made it’s way into South America, Australia, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Next time your in Cairo, make sure to check-in at the pyramids.

Foursquare founder, Dennis Crowley, has also revealed that the game is set for an update soon: “We’ve been working on this code rewrite forever. We’ve been hustling to get everything reworked by Thanksgiving so we can come back from the break and start rolling out scoring fixes, cheater fixes and a new website.”
