windows marketplaceMicrosoft Office Mobile 2010 is already available in beta for Windows Mobile 6.5 users. The new software suite popped up out for nowhere on Microsoft Windows Marketplace today. The announcement was squirrelled away in an chat with Kurt DelBene, a senior VP at Microsoft.

DelBene revealed that Microsoft Office Mobile 2010 is available in beta now during a chat about the beta versions of the full Microsoft Office 2010 and Microsoft’s Office 2010 Web Apps which are now available to business customers

Talking about Microsoft Office Mobile 2010 he said: “Office Mobile 2010 is also now available in beta…Office Mobile 2010 includes mobile versions of Word, Excel, Powerpoint, OneNote and new Sharepoint Workspace Mobile 2010. It’s available worldwide in Windows Marketplace for Mobile for Windows Mobile 6.5 phones.”
Microsoft plans to follow the approach it took with Windows 7, making the beta available to as many people as possible to gather feedback to help finalise the finished Microsoft Office Mobile 2010.
