?PS3 Facebook update?UPDATE: We’ve just spoken to a SCEE UK spokesperson who declined to comment about a British rollout for the PS3 Facebook update – it’s not kicked in yet over here, folks. We’d expect that to change very soon though so stay tuned.

The PS3 Facebook update that leaked last week has been given the green light for launch by Sony, with the 3.1 firmware software that brings all that social networking goodness going live for users today. Have you got yours yet?

Sony Computer Entertainment America says the Facebook integration with the latest PS3 update, letting you show off the trophies you’ve claimed to your friends, is rolling out as we speak.

The 3.1 PS3 update also brings a new photo layout on the XMB, and the option to give your PlayStation Network Profile a new background colour, but really, it’s the option for social butterflies that’s the big news here, especially as it arrives just a day after Xbox Live integration.

We’ve powered up two PS3s in the London area but aren’t seeing the update yet however, but be sure to let us know if you’ve got it. We’ve got a call in with SCEE now, so hang tight – we’ll update as soon as we hear anything.

Got the update this morning. I hope you do a full review of it, and treat it the same way you treat the Xbox updates.
