Samsung‘s Italian arm has just revealed the winners of its Young Design Award 2009, and as usual, tomorrow’s Philippe Starcks and Jonathan Ives have excelled themselves, coming out with weird and way out there home gizmos. Want to see what you’ll be plugging in to the home of the future? Read on for the full gallery and shortlist.

The theme for the contest was unsurprisingly green (“sustainable digital solutions that improve the quality of household life”), but that doesn’t mean the results were anything other than extraordinary. Our particular favourites include the electricity generating exercise bike and walls with lights built in. Oh, and the Samsung E Plant, which could very well prove to be the next Tamagotchi.
Have a look at all the prize winners in our gallery of insane Samsung concepts right here. Don’t expect any to go on sale, ever, but here’s to the winners getting a job in Seoul soon.
